Maxim 08/15 belt-fed 8mm machine gun. This is the portable heavy machine gun used so effectively by the Germans in both WWI and WWII. This watercooled machine gun comes with an original 50 round drum, original drum bracket, original bipod and original steam port cover. Beware: most 08/15 Maxims have numerous reproduction parts. This one is original. The only reproduction part is the steam hose! Manufactured in 1918 by M.A.N. Company in Nurnberg, one of the more rare contractors of the Maxim. Barrel and lock numbers do not match the gun, which is the case in most of the Maxims which saw wartiem service. The only other part not matching is the fussee cover, making this example a C&R with nearly all matching serial numbers, even the feed block! Superb condition with an almost perfect waterjacket; only a few small dents. A rare opportunity for such an excellent example with nearly all original receiver bluing.
